FC Porto were the visitors to White Hart Lane in the 1991-92 UEFA European Cup Winners Cup 2nd Round 1st Leg in October 1991. Wearing the Yellow Away Shirt that night, Spurs constructed a 3-1 victory to take to Estádio das Antas, where a 0-0 draw saw Spurs safely into the Quarter Final Round. In the 1st Leg in N17 Gary Lineker with a brace and Gordon Durie scored the goals. Having announced his decision to move to Japanese Club Nagoya Grampus Eight at the season's end, Lineker proceeded to amass 28 Football League Division One goals (missing out on the Golden Boot by 1 goal), and 35 goals in all competitions, was voted Spurs Player of the Year, and The FWA (Football Writers Association) Footballer of the Year too.
